उम्र चाहे जो भी हो हर दौर में आकर्षक दिखना चाहती है स्त्री। वह चाहे तो 50  पार भी सुंदर और आकर्षक नजर आ सकती है। लेकिन इसका यह मतलब नहीं कि पहले की तरह ही मेकअप किट की जरूरत पडेगी। उम्र बढना और बडी उम्र की दिखने में काफी अंतर है। कई स्त्रियों की उम्र उनके चेहरे से पता नहीं चलती, क्योंकि वे त्वचा की देखभाल सही तरीके से करती हैं और मेकअप करते समय भी जरूरी बातों का ध्यान रखती हैं।

नैचरल लेकिन बेहतरीन

बात जब 50  पार की हो तो कम से कम मेकअप ही जरूरी है, क्योंकि उम्र के निशान अब तक नजर आने लगते हैं। ऐसे में गहरा मेकअप करने से वे अधिक साफ नजर आने लगेंगे। जैसे-जैसे हमारी उम्र बढती है होंठ पतले होते जाते हैं। जाहिर है पतले होंठों को मोटा दिखाने के लिए आपको एक खास  तकनीक अपनानी होगी। मसलन न्यूट्रल कलर्ड  लिपलाइनर से लिपलाइन बनाने के बाद हलकी लिपस्टिक लगाएं और होंठों के बीचोबीच शाइनी ग्लॉस  लगाएं। इस बात का ध्यान रखें कि होंठों की आउटलाइन  बनाने के लिए कभी भी गहरे और कॉन्ट्रास्ट  कलर का लिपलाइनर  न चुनें।

आंखों को बनाएं आकर्षक

उम्र बढने साथ-साथ आंखों के आकार में भी बदलाव आता है। त्वचा में कुदरती नमी और लचीलेपन  में कमी आने के कारण आंखें  पहले से थोडी छोटी हो जाती हैं। ऐसे में लिक्विड आइलाइनर  के बजाय पेंसिल आइलाइनर  का इस्तेमाल करना ठीक रहता है। बहुत ही प्रॉमिनेंट आई लुक इस उम्र में अच्छा नहीं लगता। पेंसिल का कलर भी हलका होना चाहिए।

मोटी भौंहें (आइब्रोज)

इस उम्र में भौंहों का आकार लगभग नैचरल  रखना चाहिए। पतली भौंहें अजीब लगती हैं। कोंब  करने के बाद अगर भौंहों के बीच गैप नजर आए तो उसे अपने बालों के रंग से एक शेड गहरी पेंसिल से कवर कर सकती हैं। मोटी भौहें आपको जवां और ताजगी से भरा दिखाने में मदद करेंगी।

शिमर को कहें बाय

शिमर  और पर्ल  कलर्स  का इस्तेमाल भूल कर भी न करें। यह बारीक रेखाओं को आसानी से फोकस कर देते हैं। बेहतर होगा, इनके प्रयोग से बचा जाए। बजाय इनके न्यूट्रल शेड्स  को प्राथमिकता दें, जो आसानी से ब्लेंड  हो जाएं। ऐसे हर मेकअप प्रोडक्ट से बचें, जो चेहरे के दोष को उभारे, न कि छिपाए।

बेस जरूरी नहीं

इस उम्र में आमतौर पर स्त्रियां जो भूल करती हैं, वह है पूरे चेहरे पर बेस  लगाना। जबकि पूरे चेहरे पर फाउंडेशन/ बेस  लगाना जरूरी नहीं है। कोई जरूरी नहीं है कि जब आप यंग थीं तब आपकी त्वचा की जो समस्या थी वह आज भी हो। इसलिए फाउंडेशन के बजाय टिंटेड  मॉयस्चराइजर  इस्तेमाल करना अधिक सुरक्षित होगा। यही नियम होंठों के मेकअप के साथ भी लागू होता है। चेहरे के किसी एक हिस्से को ही फोकस करना समझदारी है।

ब्लशर का इस्तेमाल

ब्लशर का प्रयोग करना चाहती हैं तो शॉफ्ट  और नैचरल  टोंस  वाले शेड्स  चुनें। मसलन ब्राउनिश  पिंक, रेजिन  और वाइन शेड। ध्यान रहे ब्लशर  सिर्फ गालों पर लगाएं न कि चीक्स बोन पर और अच्छी तरह ब्लेंड  करें।

जब लगाना हो मस्कारा

मस्कारा  मेकअप का बहुत अहम हिस्सा है। इस उम्र में ऊपरी बरौनियों  पर वॉल्यूमाइजिंग  फॉम्र्युला  वाला मस्कारा  लगाना बेस्ट होता है। निचली बरौनियों  पर मस्कारा  या आइलाइनर  या वॉटर लाइन बनाने से आंखें अधिक छोटी नजर आएंगी। इसलिए ऊपरी लैशेज (बरौनियों) पर एक कोट वॉल्यूमाइजिंग  मस्कारा  लगाएं।

मेकअप प्राइमर

50  के पार की स्त्रियों के लिए मेकअप प्राइमर सबसे जरूरी मेकअप प्रोडक्ट है। प्राइमर लंबे समय तक मेकअप को बरकरार रखता है और इससे चेहरे पर खास चमक नजर आती है। इसके लिए बेस से पहले इलुमिनेटिंग  प्राइमर लगाना न भूलें।

कंसीलर छिपाए काले घेरे

त्वचा के दोष, काले घेरे और बारीक झुर्रियों को छिपाने के लिए कंसीलर  का इस्तेमाल बहुत जरूरी है। यह आंखों के नीचे बने बैग्स  को काफी हद तक छिपाने में मदद करेगा। आंखों के भीतरी और बाहरी कोनों पर कंसीलर  का प्रयोग जरूर करें। इससे आंखें बडी और जवां भी नजर आएंगी।

न्यूट्रल आईशैडो

आईशैडो  का इस्तेमाल करते समय इस बात का ध्यान रखें कि न्यूट्रल कलर्स  ही चुनें। डीप और डार्क  कलर्स  पलकों को काफी हैवी और धंसी हुई दर्शाते हैं, इसलिए इनके प्रयोग से बचें। लाइट और सॉफ्ट कलर वाले आईशैडो का इस्तेमाल करें और हलके हाथों से लगाएं। अच्छी तरह ब्लेंड करें। आईशैडो  के हलके टच से ही आंखें आकर्षक नजर आने लगेंगी।

A bronzed look, a dash of shimmer, neon lipstickand maybe a dab of blue eye shadow maybe all that you need to look like a million bucks on a night out. However, not everything we dabble on our faces is bound to please everyone. When it comes to make-up trends, here's a list of things that women think are hot, while men think are totally out. 

Foundation flouts: Alright, so you are scarred (maybe not for life) from a recent acne outbreak, right before an all important party that you have been waiting to attend for the last six months. While you might think that foundation is the solution, there is always a tendency to overdo it. A face that's flaking is one thing, but there's no bigger turn-off than kissing one. Also, a two-tone face is not something that would go unnoticed by a man, unless they are blind. 

Bump the bumped look: Gwen Stefani might have been able to pull of that look and it caught on faster than you could say trend, but the 'bumpit' look has become so much of an overkill that even the men are beginning to notice. Not only does it make your head look unnaturally large, but it makes your head look unnaturally large. 

No-no to the neon: Let's face it, you wear a hot new shade of your latest neon lipstick to the club once and become automatically ten times cooler than the rest of the crowd wearing (gasp), normal lipsticks. While the electric pout might have been the coolest thing to rule the roost since miniskirts, men beg to differ. Simply because they are not sure how to react to an orange pout. 

Eyes eyes baby: Overly plucked thin eyebrows and bold eye shadows just make you look like you rubbed your eyes while putting your make up on. Smoky eyes once in a way are okay, but to use it for a casual date in a fast food joint is just pushing it a tad too far. 

Glitz Gone wrong: All that glitters sadly, is not always gold. Compare your glitter to some fine seasoning that you would use in a main course dish. Not really a vital ingredient, but definitely something that enhances the overall look. Same goes with your glitter shades. A dash on the cheekbones, or the ends of your eyes can work wonders.

Getting inked may be high on the must-do list of a lot of youngsters, but for Kanpurites who have been there, done that, it's time to come clean, literally. After spending a considerable amount of money to get their tattoos, an increasing number of city folk are emptying their pockets to get rid of them. The trend can be attributed to family pressure or an attempt at being taken seriously at work.

Family first
Businessman Vishal Grover is a tattoo aficionado and has gotten inked on his neck and forearm. Five months ago, he decided to get one of histattoos removed. "Almost a year ago, I got my third tattoo, this time on my wrist. It really annoyed my family, for I already had two tattoos. My parents felt that tattoos did not gel with the social mindset of the city. Seeing their reaction, I decided to get one of them removed. Since I did not want to take any risk, I did my research and went to Delhi for a laser removal," shares Vishal, adding, "Getting the tattoo removed was difficult not only because I loved it, but also because the entire process was very painful. The laser beams are so powerful that they burn the colour of the tattoo inside the skin." The procedure costed him `20,000.

Jeet Gondal, a former DJ and now an event manager, went in for tattoo removal because of the change in his work profile. "When I was into DJing, I got two tattoos on my forearm. With a change in my profession, I felt that the tattoos no longer gelled with my profile. I thought that my clients would not take me seriously if they noticed my tattoos. Out of the two tattoos, I got the one on my right forearm removed. I spent `30,000 on the procedure in Mumbai. Even though I really loved the tattoo, mujhe serious dikhne ke liye tattoo remove karwana hi pada," says Jeet.

Manish Tripathi is another professional from the city who decided to get rid of his tattoo. "In a city like Kanpur, tattoos are still a taboo. People think that if you are inked, then you have a lighter approach towards your personal and professional life. I had a tattoo of a tiger that used to start from my neck and end on the chest, which I got done while holidaying in Thailand. I had to get it removed so that the people in my professional circuit would take me seriously. Deciding to get it removed was a tough decision as I knew that the laser removal treatment was quite painful, but I still went ahead with it at a Delhi cosmetic clinic," says Manish, who's also stopped dying his hair. "Now, people tell me that salt and pepper hair and no tattoos have added depth to my personality," he avers.

During his stint with a company in Goa, Himanshu Bhatia had no qulams in getting tattooed. But once back in Kanpur, he had to deal with a different work culture. "I worked in Goa for almost three years and it was then that I got an eagle tattoo done on my nape. But recently, I took up a new job. With my changed profile, I had to look serious and the tattoo depicted exactly the opposite. After joining the new organization, I went in for a tattoo removal surgery in Mumbai," he shares. Himanshu's tattoo costed him a whopping `43,000 in all - `18,000 to get it done, and `25,000 to get it removed!

No facility for tattoo removal in Kanpur
While more and more Kanpurites are looking to remove their tattoos as part of their image makeover, there aren't enough facilities in the city to get the procedure done.

Kanpur-based cosmetic surgeon Dr Rahul Agarwal informs, "Many people come to me for getting their tattoos removed. But since it's a new concept in the city, I suggest them to get it done in either Delhi or Mumbai. We still do not have the proper equipment needed for such surgeries. If a trained cosmetic surgeon performs it, then there are no scars or marks left behind.
