‘Excess’orise the cool factor

‘Excess’orise the cool factor

If your fashion excursions weren’t able to garner enough attention it is time to scrutinise the various possibilities available to you. This season, it’s all about getting people to notice you without going overboard.
If you prefer to dress formally or semi-formally, then a pocket square is sure to add an edge to your clothing. Bright coloured pocket squares are exuberant and add a tinge of panache to your swagger. This season is all about bright colours so don’t hesitate to sport dazzling colours this season.
Pocket squares for the biz look
There is an interesting range of pocket squares which are sure to give your fashion a new spin. They can be picked from any men’s fashion outlet at Brigade Road and Indiranagar and look splendid on the oh-so-important meeting.
Madhatters
Fedora hats are back in the game and if you are looking to adorn one, then it is the way to go. Fedora hats seem dignified but also have a playful look; they can be worn with semi-formals and casual clothes. There are  different hues of hats that can be bought for Rs 250 from Brigade Road, but you could always go for the cheaper alternatives. Commercial Street has Fedora hats that cost as cheap as Rs 150.
Earringa!
If ear studs rock your boat then be sure not to wear anything flashy. Subtle ear studs are the flavour of the season.
Time is of the essence
Watches are also in and tongue-in-cheek displays seem to be chic. Fastrack has a wide variety of impressive designs that make a strong fashion statement. Watches with rubber straps have an edge over leather and steel ones. Hip looking watches are also available at various watch stores on Brigade Road.
Belt out loud
While on the lookout for belts remember to avoid leather, for fabric belts are more appropriate this season. Brands like Lacoste have belts that are very impressive to look at though, they are a bit costly. If the price seems a little out of your budget then Proline has a range of trendy fabric belts and so does Shoppers Stop, Total and Westside outlets. Belts can also be bought from various showrooms on Brigade Road.
Don’t just glare
The scorching heat is reason enough to procure a decent pair of shades. Remember to go for a modern and daring look. Ray Bans are priced at a Rs 4,500, but you may bump into an odd salesman on the streets of Brigade Road, who would be willing to part with a pair of shades for Rs 200. “I recently got a pair for myself not because of any style quotient but on impulse. I buy a lot of things without pre-emptive planning. I like to go with the flow.” says Satish, an advertising professional from Bengaluru.
Fashion Designer Raj Shroff has an interesting tip for you gentlemen, “Go for a bright tone and choose bags that are eco-friendly. A lot of fabric bags are available that are extremely fashionable.”
This season is all about giving vent to your colourful side don’t be afraid to wear bright coloured clothes but, of course, don’t overplay it.  Remember that accessories complement your personality so delve into yourself and figure out what suits you for fashion is merely an extension of your personality. Dress smart and have fun. Happy partying!
